Recent empty-nesters, this adventurous couple embraced their next chapter in a quintessential historic cottage in Laguna Beach. Drawn by the vibrant village life, they found the perfect bungalow—just steps from the seaside and surrounded by artful inspiration.
Self-proclaimed Foodies and true cooks, the homeowners take great joy in strolling to the local Farmer’s Market and crafting beautiful meals from their farm-to-table finds.
The original kitchen lacked both function and form. We transformed the quirky space into a warm and inviting culinary hub—infused with thoughtful flow, efficient storage, and timeless charm.
The material selection process was fun and collaborative. Choosing the slab was an especially meaningful moment—the homeowners felt an instant connection, as its organic veining echoed the rock formations they admire on their daily beach walks.
Inspired by the slab’s natural tones, we chose a paint color called Dirty Martini—a shade that not only complemented the palette beautifully, but also set the stage for stories to be shared over handcrafted cocktails and lovingly prepared culinary delights.
A cozy nook was designed as the perfect spot to nestle in with a morning coffee and take in the view of the historic Hotel Laguna. Layers of timeless prints—woven through textiles and wallpaper—lend a relaxed, vintage vibe that feels both curated and relaxed.
